Independence Statement

Tethys Environmental Science is committed to maintaining full editorial independence, academic freedom, and integrity in all aspects of its publishing activities.

Editorial decisions regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts are made solely on the basis of scientific merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and compliance with recognized ethical and research integrity standards.

Editorial Autonomy

The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board operate with full editorial autonomy and are not influenced by the publisher, sponsoring institutions, advertisers, commercial interests, or any external organizations.

No individual, institution, or financial stakeholder has the authority to override, veto, or influence editorial decisions based on non-scientific considerations.

Separation of Editorial and Administrative Roles

While the publisher provides technical, administrative, and infrastructural support for journal operations, it does not participate in the editorial evaluation, peer-review process, or content selection.

Editorial responsibilities and administrative or financial functions are strictly separated to ensure transparency, objectivity, and editorial independence.

If applicable, article processing charges (APCs) are managed independently of the editorial process. The payment status of authors has no influence on peer-review outcomes or editorial decisions, and editors and reviewers are not informed of any financial transactions related to submissions.

Peer Review Integrity

All manuscripts submitted to Tethys Environmental Science undergo a fair, objective, and confidential peer-review process conducted by independent experts in the relevant field.

Manuscripts are evaluated exclusively on scientific quality, methodological rigor, originality, and ethical compliance, without regard to authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, or personal characteristics.

Protection from External Influence

Tethys Environmental Science does not permit political, financial, institutional, or ideological pressure to affect editorial judgment or publication decisions.

All editorial assessments are conducted impartially and solely in the interest of advancing high-quality scientific knowledge.

Conflict of Interest Management

Editors, Editorial Board members, and reviewers are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could compromise editorial neutrality.

When a conflict of interest is identified, appropriate measures are taken to ensure unbiased evaluation, including the reassignment of editorial responsibility or reviewers where necessary.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Tethys Environmental Science adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing.

The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to fairness, accountability, transparency, and integrity in all editorial and peer-review practices.
