Tethys Environmental Science welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in environmental science and related disciplines. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow the instructions below to ensure an efficient review and publication process.
Tethys Environmental Sciences is published biannually starting from 2026. Accepted articals are made available via "Early View" and are formally "Published" in June and December of each year.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other journal.
All submissions must demonstrate scientific originality, clarity, and relevance to the scope of the journal.
Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly advised to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.
The writing style should be concise, formal, and objective. Excessive jargon and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
The main text should be in Times New Roman font and 12 point font size. Manuscripts should not exceed 15 pages, all single-spaced.
Table and Figures must be embedded within the text using Arabic numbers, e.g. Figure 1, Figure 2, Table 1, Table 2 etc., in order of appearance. Figure and Table captions should be in Times New Roman font and 12 point font size. Figures and Tables must be limited to an essential minimum, at most 9 for each. There should not be a line inside the table, but there should be line at the top and bottom side of the Tables. Figure captions and table headings should be sufficient to explain the Figure or Table without needing to refer to the text. Figures and Tables not cited in the text should not be presented.
Articles cited in the text should be referenced by the surname of the author(s) followed by the year of publication in parentheses. For example: Duran and Kante (2018). When both the author name(s) and year appear in parentheses, they should be separated by a comma, with no punctuation between the author name(s) and the year itself, as in (Duran and Kante, 2017). For works with more than two authors, only the first (senior) author’s surname should be given, followed by et al. (e.g., Hauser et al., 2024).
Abbreviations must be defined at their first occurrence and used consistently throughout the text.
Footnotes may be used to provide additional information, including references that also appear in the reference list. Footnotes within the main text should be numbered consecutively, while those in tables should be indicated by superscript lowercase letters (or asterisks for significance levels and other statistical data).
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission system.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess suitability for the journal’s scope and basic quality requirements.
Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts under a single-blind peer review model. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must summarize objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions.
Authors should provide 5 keywords.
All references must be accurate and complete and follow internationally accepted scientific citation standards.
References should be listed in alphabetical order according to the name of the first author.

Any use of AI tools beyond language and stylistic editing must be clearly and transparently disclosed at the time of submission. Authors must specify the name of the AI tool, its version (where applicable), and the exact purpose of its use.
AI tools must not be used to generate scientific content, perform data analysis, or produce original interpretations or conclusions. All scientific content must be created and validated by the authors. Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work, and must ensure that the final manuscript reflects their own intellectual contributions.
The use of AI tools must not compromise data privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all AI-assisted processes comply with applicable ethical guidelines, copyright laws, and licensing terms.
